i was over at SMOSCH buying a present for a friends upcoming birthday and stumbled upon smoschblogger, Sandra’s STUNNING winter photos. These are taken in Sweden and actually make me desire a winter cold enough to create such beauty:
I saw a similar image in this month’s ELLE DECOR UK and it stopped me in my tracks. If I HAD to live in Greenland, ( i am sure its a wonderful place, i just don’t like cold weather) I would most certainly LOVE living in one of these:

i am so drawn to umbrellas. i am honestly not quite sure what it is, i mean, i rarely ever use an umbrella in the traditional sense…but i have posted art with umbrellas previously and in the spring i used umbrellas in a display at my store. Today i found this image and my heart skipped a beat. i do not know the genesis of my love of the untraditional use of umbrellas. i mean, sure i saw mary poppins as a child, but not in decades and i was not nearly as obsessed with that as i was the film, Bed Knobs and Broomsticks, and i am not running around using either bed knobs or broomsticks in any displays…(although….maybe i will).
While spending my morning researching my upcoming trip to Paris, I have gone to many of my favorite blogs to see if they have posts on FRANCE or PARIS. Naturally, I stopped at Pia Jane Bijkerk’s blog...which, of course, did not disappoint. If not a potential stop on my upcoming itinerary, one post definitely was a stop on an inspirational path….The Wishing Tree is such a romantic notion and i was sure to stop, and make a wish….check out the entire enchanting post here...and be sure to stop and make a wish too!
nothing more adorable than a wide eyed baby girl speaking french! my mom had my brothers and I in Spanish lessons with a lady down the street when i was like 3 years old, but it didn’t stick, surely if it had been french….well, who know!
so, i have not yet been to babycakes in NYC. although, i think i may have to put it on the list for my next trip in january. check it out here.
