I am fairly new to flickr, I mean, I have had a flickr account but have honestly not spent much time on it, I have merely used it as a place to store pics of my store. But I have dedicated a file in my bookmarks of all flickr users I have stumbled upon and admire; and after doing the MOSAIC OF ME project last week, I am finally finding a little time to meddle around in there.
Today I have discovered a section of Flickr named, The Commons, which houses photos from different Institutions from around the world, for instance the Library of Congress and Smithsonian, amongst others. I decided to type a word into The Common’s search engine and put together a mosaic of images that came up from that.
My word was: SMILE
I must note the irony of all those smiles on the japanese-american women put in “camps” during WWII…and the fact that quite frankly, this search did NOT yield many photos
although I think these four are gems.
